Alocasia Frydek variegated The Alocasia Frydek variegata is a dazzling houseplant that immediately draws attention with its striking leaves. This plant is known for its beautiful, velvety leaves that are beautifully colored with contrasting white and green patterns. The vibrant white stripes on the deep green leaves give the Alocasia Frydek variegata a refined, almost artistic look, making it a real eye-catcher in any interior. Rarity ⭐️⭐️ With the Alocasia Frydek variegata you acquire a plant that is readily available online worldwide, but you will not quickly come across it in a garden centre. Care When you have fully acclimatized your plant and it is time to repot it into your substrate of choice, it likes an airy, well-drained substrate. This provides the roots with sufficient oxygen, helping the plant to continue to grow into a large, strong plant. Your plant will also appreciate semi-hydroponic substrates such as hydro granules and pon. If you prefer (coco) potting soil, we recommend additives such as perlite, orchid bark and coconut husk, so that there is sufficient air in your mix. The Alocasia Frydek variegated is beautiful to look at, but it is generally harder to care for. After your plant is completely acclimated it's satisfied with bright indirect light, in which it shows the deepest colors. This can also be achieved with a growth light, which will provide it with sufficient light all year round. It needs moderate water, it is often advised to frequently give it a little amount of water. She does not like to have wet feet, and is very susceptible to root rot. Allow the top layer of soil to dry before watering again, and avoid direct bright sunlight to avoid burning the leaves. With a little attention and love, this plant will reward you with healthy growth and beautiful colors. Origin All our plants are cultivated in labs in Thailand.
We ship from the Netherlands, so your order always arrives quickly! To ensure that your favorite new plant arrives safely all of our shipments are shipped no later in the week than Tuesday (Wednesday for NL/BE), so that your plant does not have to spend the weekend in transport.
We will always package your order with the utmost care, and will always use thermal bubble wrap to keep your plant comfortable. When it's cold we'll also add a free heatpack to your order, or postpone your shipment for a bit when it's really too cold.
The great thing about tissue culture plants is that you are initially always assured of variegation, because your plant is cloned from a mother plant with good variegation. Due to the nature of variegation, the leaf markings differ from leaf to leaf, from plant to plant. Because the plant needs enough of its normal leaf colour to get energy from daylight, it is not a problem at all if your new leaf is sometimes one with little or no variegation at all. This will only make you appreciate the variegata on your other leaves even more!
It's good to know that variegation in plants will always be unstable, since variegation is a genetic defect. Because of that there is always a chance that a plant will revert and will stop making variegation.
Because tissue culture plants can only survive for a limited time in the gel in which they are shipped, we unfortunately have to make choices as to which products we do and do not have in regular store stock. If you order a product marked pre-order, this means that we will order your plant especially for you with our next supplier order. If you are lucky this means you are just in time to be included in the next order round, but in most cases it will take 4-8 weeks before we can deliver your plant. You can always cancel pre-orders as long as we have not yet ordered your product from our supplier. If you want to cancel while a product has already been ordered for you, we will charge a 50% cancellation fee.
